Inquirey about Urgent Processing Request

Hi, I have an interview at a Canadian University and flight ticket is almost done. However, it is only 10 days from today, and there is no alternative day. Based on your guys experience, either online or mail-in essentially takes ~30 days, which is not possible for me. So I will try to go to Los Angeles Consulate in person soon.

My question is
1. Can Urgent Processing Request apply to my situation?
2. I assume I just need to fill a special form, in addition to other required files.
3. Do I need to pay additional fee?
4. No matter it will be approved or not, I should put my original passport to the application material, but not the photocopy, right?

Is it helpful if I ask the Canadian school to write a letter to explain how emergent it is? It is actually an interview.

Unfortunately there is no urgent processing for TRVs available. Good luck. I hope something works out for you.

Online is fastest and these applications are given priority. In person has the same processing time as mail in - both of these are treated the same.
