During covid, the Owp for inlanders is very unlikely to be issued in less than 7 months after the application. Even we have to make sure we have enough to support ourselves for a few years, not being able to work for such a long period is quite devastating to our mental health, what will u guys do during this period? Voluntary work? Online work(not feasible for everyone), look after ur home(not suitable for a lot of people, especially men)

- Volunteer work (when it's possible, it isn't always and you need to check with your organization because sometimes it can be considered 'work')

- Community involvement

- Learning (not in school programs >6mo)

etc

So does it mean I cannot apply for any full time degree in universities either as an international student or a domestic student(spouse of a citizen)

That's correct. You need a study permit if you want to study any program longer than 6 months.

So is it possible for me to get a study permit while I m waiting for pr?
Sure, you can apply for a study permit. You'll need to be accepted by a school first and then apply for the study permit. You must also be prepared to pay international fees.

Thx, hmmm but what I read from every Ontario university’s website is that spouse of a citizen is exempt from international fee. is the rule different from province to province?

It's different from school to school. Some will still expect international fees.

Either way, the first step is the study permit. If you plan to start in September, you are short on time to get one approved.

Thx, I initially planned to attend school in sept 2022, but with this dreadful situation I m not sure if my PR will be issued by that time(I applied in May 2021), also owp doesn’t matter with it right?
