Inland spouse sponsorship - marriage performed in India but no registration

I recently got married and my marriage was performed in India but did not register it. Can I get legally married here in Canada for Inland spousal sponsorship? And if I do that does it have any impact upon my application?

Why did you not get your marriage registered in India? That is very strange and may raise concerns for IRCC. You have to get married in Canada to have your marriage registered here. What kind of ceremony did you have? Was this an arranged marriage? How much time in person have you spent with your spouse before and after marriage.

I had to comeback immediately after marriage as I had two exams at my university and Marriage registrar was giving date after a month.
Regarding ceremonies, we performed all the Sikh rituals such as haldi, Jaggo, anand Karaj. And the marriage was arranged. Like we are in relationship since July 2022 and married in 2024. And we’re living together after that.
