Inland spousal sponsorship time frame

Please anyone with timelines, I'm applying to sponsor my wife who is in canada with a student visa and I plan on also applying on open work permit change of status. Does anyone know approximately when the first stage approval comes with an open work permit? And also how long does it take from apply to final approval?

Please any input will be appreciated.

Hey bru, so we applied Feb2013 and got first stage approval in Jan2014. Eventhough I consulted a lawyer when we filled out the application, we didnt know that you can apply for an open work permit at the same time. I did apply for one online and got it within 30days. Just to give you some idea. They actually do try to stick to those time frames posted on the website. Goodluck!

Oh and the whole thing should take about 16-18months.... Depending on your situation and application etc etc etc

Check the "2014 Inland application" thread, there are links for a spreadsheet with everyone's wait times.
As of mid-January 2014, wait times to receive an AOR(Acknowledgement of Receipt) are a little more than 3 months.
