Hi Guys,

We submitted our application on June 27th, we just got a return mail yesterday on Aug 8th 2018 stating we forgot to sign one of the pages (even though we typed in the signature, we didn't notice the checklist also said it must be signed as well). We immediately signed it and sent the entire application back.

However, my wife is Korean and her ETA is valid for 6 months upon entry. We actually came back together on Feb 7th.. which means the last day was Aug 7th.

As such, technically she just lost her status by the time we re-sent back the application. (Although we did include the previous time stamped mailing package which stated June 27th).

Just wondering if this going to be an issue? If so, what are the steps we should take right now to fix this?

Thanks,

Mike

Exactly same thing happened to us. But I re-applied from scratch with all new forms which were updated in MAY. Did you applied on new forms ? If not by the time all docs reach VO some docs will be older than 90 days. SO I was advised to re-apply.Think of applicant's photo, it should not be older than 6 months.

Since the application was returned, the previous submission date is irrelevant. All that matters is the date your new / complete application was received.

This means your wife has applied for PR while out of status in Canada. As a result, she won't qualify for the open work permit pilot and will have to wait until she has first stage approval before she will qualify for an OWP.

Ideally you should have applied to restore her status when you submitted the new application rather than having her remain in Canada with no status. It's too bad you didn't post here before resubmitting the application.
