Inland Spousal Sponsorship OWP Application

Hi everyone,

We recently received our Acknowledgment of Receipt (AOR) for our inland spousal sponsorship application and now want to apply for an Open Work Permit (OWP). However, we’re a bit lost on how to proceed.

We created a GCKey account, but we are unable to link the PR application to the account—it keeps saying “application not found.” The sponsor received the AOR via email a few days ago in a PDF. Has anyone else experienced this?

I found the OWP questionnaire, and it asks us to upload the following:

• IMM 5710
• Passport
• Digital photo (Can we use the same one from the PR application, or does it need to be new? Can we take one at home?)
• Upfront medical exam
• Family member proof of status

Is this the correct application process? Also, where should we upload the AOR as proof that we are eligible for the OWP?

Lastly, I already paid the biometric fee when applying for PR, but the system is asking me to pay again for the OWP. Do I need to pay again, or can I skip this fee?

Might be important: currently staying in Canada as a visitor. (Travelled using eTa, passport wasn’t stamped, so 6 months from entry date which was 2 months ago.)

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.
