Hi Friends,
My wife is currently in Canada on closed work permit and we are planning to apply her Inland Spousal PR + Open work permit (the pilot program). Will she be able to get the open work permit considering she already has a closed work permit till next yr Jan 2017? Also can she travel out of canada and return during her Inland PR processing time if her travel duration out of Canada is around 2 months?

Any help is highly appreciated.

Yes, she should be able to do so.

From which country, is she visa-exempt? Leaving Canada for 2 months is awfully risky in my opinion, I would say "no", she can't.

Thanks, I understand it's risky, that's why we are planning to apply for Outland PR. We are from India. +1 for you!!

As I've been told before, she isn't allowed to travel out of Canada while waiting on Inland PR decision. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Nothing is stopping you from leaving Canada. However if you leave, there's never a guarantee you will be allowed back in. And if you're not allowed back in, this cancels your application.
