As you all know, there has been outragous delays with CIC dealing with Inland spousal applications from last year. Some estimate there are over 15000 applicants in Canada without status and are in limbo...
Would it be possible to seek help from UN Human Rights.. There are over 200 nations member of UN Afterall family unification is critical part eminent in every consitituion and law. What are you thougths? Can we seek UN help for people who are in limbo waiting years to grant permission to live their life? After all democratic society functions for the people and by the people?

Also, there people from different nationalities are in limbo.. CIC needs to answer... this delay of 2 years... Suggest...
We have numerous media articles supporting this...
Could we start online petition and seek UN help?

Your missing a critical point with CIC calling it FAMILY REUNIFICATION (Reunification: To cause (a group, party, state, or sect) to become unified again after being divided). Those who applied inland are already with their family.

Exactly!

The problem reaches far beyond the Inland applicants. The entire system is broken.

The pilot program OWP is merely a band-aid on a wound that really requires sutures/stitches to properly heal!

Agree!... the point is the treatment foreigner gets living so long without equal rights.. Is this fair..? When the timeline has been tripled since last year.? Isnt this a atrocity on humanity? Suggest?

Canada is in no way required to give equal rights to foreigners.

Genocide is an atrocity. A few thousand people having to wait a few year for PR in Canada is about as far from atrocity as you can get.

Even when a FN becomes a PR, they STILL don't have equal rights. For that, you need to become a Canadian citizen.

I can't speak to whether or not you're otherwise a fool. LOL! ;)

Canada. One of the few countries in the world which will allow a foreigner a chance at a better life. Doesn't sound so inhumane to me.

lol, i won't mock the OP but family reunification is not in any constitution and not a right under any law.

otherwise govt may be forced to pay air fares (have to checked recent cross country fares?) for family members to meet coast to coast :) just like canadian have a right to live anywhere in canada but guaranteed housing or job, same with marriage.

Please explain.

It is the foreign spouse's (and the Canadian sponsor, since they are the ones financially responsible for the applicant) responsibility to `understand' what they are getting themselves into. As frustrating as this really is...it is a conscious choice that is made by YOU.

there are countries far worse than this. heck there are places where you can live and work all your life but you still wont be a citizen. many countries will ask you to learn the language (japan) or disallow a wife to pass citizenship to a husband (jordan).

no, it means that it is difficult for CIC to obtain information from certain countries around the world who don't freely share background/security information with CIC. how is that Canada's fault? How about crying to the other governments about loosening up information sharing policies? Why not attempt immigration to the country of citizenship of the principal applicant. if it's so much quicker and smoother, then what's preventing starting the process there?

Most countries on the planet would not even consider affording a foreigner becoming a citizen. I'm originally from the Philippines. I can become a Canadian Citizen and keep my Philippine status.

My husband / sponsor can become a Philippine citizen if he choose, after 5 years, but only if he lives there, becomes fluent in the language AND renounces his Canadian Citizenship. Many other countries are not even THAT generous.
