Hi all
I have a question regarding residence in my common law relationship with my partner.
The PA signed a lease on Dec,2022 and that lease expired on Dec, 2023. The sponsor was on a vacation, and returned to the same residence in Feb,2023 to live together in the same unit. The landlord agreed upon letting us live together in the same unit, although the lease still stated that it could be rented to one person only. I have proof of text of the landlord agreeing to it but our landlord isn’t the most cooperative even it comes to signing letter of support, hence our neighbour wrote a letter of support for us. The lease has now ended and it was always only under PA’s name.

My question is, since our lease has now expired, am I still expected to submit a copy of it, given that although I can prove the landlord allowing us to live together despite the addendum terms on the lease, but the landlord probably might not like that, and I respect his privacy on this. Or should proof of e transfer of rent from sponsor to PA every month, proof by neighbour through letter of support, documents mailed to us, bank statements and paystubs etc all to this address, be enough?

Hi,
We were in the same situation my partner was on a visitor visa and can't be added to my lease since there is no credit report. We just submit the letter from building that can't be added and financial support, bank, phones, insurance, and application got accepted and we are in the process now and already got a work permit.
