Inland Sponsorship application, how to make make spouse legally stay in Canada.

hi there, I am very confused by the inland application. Story is below:
1. I am a Canadian and we'll go through the inland spouse application approach.
2. My wife is hold the post graduate open workpermit which can NOT be renewed and it's going to expire within 3 months

My question is after we submitted the inland spouse sponsorship application, can she stay in canada legally after her PGOW expires?
if not, what else should we apply in order to keep her around?

If you apply for INLAND Sponsorship before her current visa expires then she is allowed to stay in Canada under whats called "implied status" until you guys hear back from CiC.
