INLAND SPONSOR - Request for updated passport

I applied to sponsor my husband back in May of last year, we received a notice that a new copy of his passport is needed (we already renewed his passport). My question is what is the best way to update them? In the letter is a mailing address as well as an email address. Should I send to both? And should I mention his Identification # on the envelope or in a letter? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If they allow email in the document request you received, just reply to the email. Put his UCI number/name etc. either in the email body or in the subject line.

Well it does say "Please send the documents/information to:" and list both mailing address and an email so I wasn't sure if one was better than the other or send to both
