inland processing time

Processing time for AIP is down to 10 months from 11 months (website updated Sept 5, 2012) . Does anyone know how often this changes and what was the lowest number of months so far? A few months back I think it was 6 months.

Didn't first stage approval used to take 5-6 months only?

it takes 10 months for first stage approval with open work permit (submit it with your sponsorship application) and another 8 months for the permanent residence. Your spouse would be advised not to leave canada as to not jeopardize his/her application in any case he/she is denied entry at the border. I think Outland is better as it is faster and he/she can leave and re enter Canada anytime
