Inland PR Landing with expired Temporary Resident Visa

Hello,

Has anyone (who has already been living in Canada) done landing with their Temporary Resident Visa expired? Is it possible to do so?

Inland applicants have a valid study permit or work permit, which allows them to re-enter Canada from USA, even though their temporary resident visa (TRV) may expire. See http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=527&top=16

So there should be no problem to land with an expired TRV. In addition, in land applicants can choose to land in some CIC office within Canada
