Hi,

i may be getting married in India this year and recently got PR status in Canada. Was wondering if outland or inland would be the best method of applying?

it seems like outland would be the fastest still but recently heard that CIC just recently launched a pilot program that would allow spouses of inland applicants to apply for an open work permit after the approval in principle has been received, assuming that the spouse can get a TRV to come to Canada.

thanks in advance,

I would check out the Delhi thread to see how quickly outland apps are being processed at the moment, that will give you a better idea of what option would be best for you. Inland apps are taking between 2-3 years right now.

As you have mentioned, "assuming" the spouse can get a TRV which is generally hard (not impossible) to get since you will have to declare he will be visiting your spouse while applying and at the border.

I would suggest you apply outland since it seems to be quickest with SA taking roughly 90 days and PR about 6-7 months at the Delhi office.
