Hi Everyone,

I am on a working permit and currently I am working full time in Canada. My visa expires on Feb 2018. Me and my husband are going to go for spousal sponsorship. We also plan to claim tax together in 2016 (bcz we claim tax seperately this year) and after that we will submit the application, so probably in around May.

My question is:
1) when should I do the medical check in 2016? in Feb or right before i send the application?
2) If we submit the application in May or June in 2016, and consider the fact that my visa expires in 2018, is it better for me to apply inland or outland?

I am so worried and i would like to get everything straightened up before I carry this thing out. Everyone please give me your advice from your experience! thanks

1. you should do medical before sending application.
Medical is only good for a year ( there is pretty good chance VO would ask you to re do medical anyway)
I booked my medical right before I sent application - prepared all docs and filled out all form then did medical.

2. hope other members would answer you.

Why are you waiting till next year, why don't you just do it now. You can be in Canada and apply while working. Often people wait when they are common aw and haven't quiet reached the 1 year. If you apply outland you will need your medical done upfront. If you apply inland you can wait.

You can change the information with CRI at any time you don't need to wait, infact you should have done that already once you were married.

The reason we applying next year is because we have not been living together for more than 1 year now. We feel like we dont have strong material to support our application ....also, we didnt claim tax together this year...so we have to wait till next year... Im scared that by submitting documents such as vacation pic , wedding pic, jointed bank account, and other joint bill, it wont be strong enough to be approved... I dont really know now...i hate it to prove so much even if the marraige is real :(

Honestly I think you might be over-thinking it a little bit.

I helped my spouse apply about 2 weeks after the day we had gotten married, and we had gathered the documents months ahead. Her medical was done in October 2013, we applied in Dec 2013, and we just got approved this month (May, 2015) and no re-med was ever asked for (this is inland though, and as you can see it took a tragically long time which is why CIC is being nice about the meds).

We had never filed (at the time, since it's been almost a year and half this is no longer true) a joint tax return, and we don't have a joint bank account.

What we do have is an honest marriage, and I think CIC can usually get that from the evidence you supply.

Thank you. I also heard that young couples are likely to be rejected due to not having a child. Me and my husband both work full time and we do not have time for a kid so we do not plan for having a kid at all. But we are both under 30 years old. Im worrying ...

No.. that is false. People are not likely to be rejected if they don't have a child together, lol. There are tons of childless folks, childless people on these forums. Filing a tax return together or having a child together does not define whether or not your relationship is authentic. There are millions if not billions of couples on this planet that have done neither or will do neither of those things:) You are being too hard on yourself. You don't need to wait until you have filed a joint tax return. That is not a criteria for having a genuine relationship. There are plenty of reasons not to file taxes one way or another;)

Have you met eachother's families? Friends? Did you have a wedding? A reception? Did you know eachother before you started dating, or before you got married? If you met and then 40 minutes later.. got married.. then yeah, that's gonna be a red flag! But if you're a genuine couple, don't be too hard on yourself. You want to include evidence, and some visa offices are harder than others, but those officers are aware of the cultural norms of those parts of the world, etc...

You will be just fine. A lot of people apply right after they get married.

My husband and I did not file tax together and did not have joint account , no rental /lease contract both name on it etc.
only proof of our marriage and relationship was photos, marriage certificate and flight tickets etc.

Younger people getting rejected!? That'd be news to me. I'm 23, as of March, and my hubby/sponsor is 24! Unless you're talking teens I don't know who would say state such an untrue thing!
