Inland application while out of status

"Spouses and common law partners of Canadian citizens and permanent residents in Canada who wish to apply for permanent resident status are required to have legal immigration status in order to qualify under the Spouse or Common-law partner in Canada class."

does anyone know for sure if they have started to enforce this and what the cut off period is for when applications had to be in for this rule to apply?

As mentioned in one (or more) of your other threads, nobody has been able to confirm if this change is real or not.

The Inland Guide was updated last September, to include the language that you have included in your post. The Guide has since been updated again and this language remains.


If in fact this change is now in place, it would pertain to applications that were received by CIC after the date in September that the Guide was updated.
