Hi Everyone ! I'm going to submit my inland application and OWP at the same time. But I have some concern about my status if it's still valid? Any help from you would be appreciated!

My study permit is expiring this month.I've not enrolled or attending school anymore. I completed all my studies before 2012.I applied for the study permit in March,2014 just to extend my status. Do I still be regarded as valid status to qualify for the OWP application?

One thing to mention that is my study permit applied in 2014 (201403-201603), there's mistake made by CIC (wrong date of birth ), so I applied to correct it and got the new study permit on December,2014 (201412-201603) which has the restriction under 'Must actively pursuit study in designated school'. But the original one doesn't have that one.

Do I still be regarded as valid status? If yes, do I need provide both study permits and an explanation letter? And how soon or the deadline to submit my application as my permit is expiring the end of this month?

Study permits are now automatically canceled if you're out of school for more than 90 days. This is a new rule that came into place in 2014. So if you haven't attended school since 2012, I would expect you've been out of status for a while now (likely since early 2015).

You can still apply inland. However you should expect that you won't benefit from the OWP pilot (since you're out of status) and will have to wait the 16-18 months until you have AIP before you will qualify for an open work permit.

Hopefully you haven't been working on your study permit all this time.
