Inland Application - OWP & Fees

Hi,

1. How do we apply for an open work permit under the sponsorship application? Should we send it at the same time or after we send the application? Should it be done online?
2. How do we pay the fees for the sponsorship application and OWP?
3. How can we connect our application with an online CIC account?
4. Once we send the application (inland), will I have implied status or will I have to extend my visitor status once it expires?
5. I'm currently on implied status as I sent my application for visitor status a couple months ago (after my working holiday visa expired) and it hasn't been accepted yet. Can I send OWP application while on implied status?
6. My wife is currently unemployed because she is pregnant. We are living with and receiving support from her parents. What should we do about financial support from the sponsor? Could we get rejected because of this?

If you are applying for Inland Sponsorship it is advised that you send your OWP Application and Fees Receipts with your Inland Sponsorship App.

You print off all the relevant documents for the OWP online and fill them in. Advised to type online to avoid mistakes and then print off after validating.

Payment for the Sponsorship fees and the OWP fees can be paid on the IRCC website. Make sure you print off both payment receipts and include them with your application package $1040 for the Sponsorship and $255 for the OWP.

After you submit your application to IRCC Case Processing Centre they will contact you shortly afterwards usually around 30 days or less advising you to link your application to an online account. Only then do you link your Immigration Application.

If you submit an OWP Application with your Sponsorship Application you will get Implied Status. However you will not be permitted to work in Canada until you receive your OWP from IRCC.

If you have any savings in your bank account you may show proof of funds which show you have money to support both of you. If not, get a letter from her parents (notarized) saying they are supporting you both due to you been on a visitor visa implied status you cannot legally work. If you have savings that would help more.

So, when we send in our sponsorship application and OWP application, should we put them in the same letter or should they be sent separately? How will they know that we are also applying for an open work permit? On the letter itself, should we write that it's a sponsorship application + OWP?

Also, will implied status (which is what I am currently on), be good enough to apply for an OWP? I've heard that people have been rejected due to an invalid status, so I want to make sure that won't be the case for me.

You send them together. There is a box on the PR application to tick whether you are applying for the OWP as well.

You can apply on implied status because it in itself is legal status. You said earlier you applied for your extension as a visitor AFTER your IEC expired? That may cause.an issue because you'd have been in canada illegally if you let your IEC expires before applying for a new status. Implied status is only valid if you had legal status when applying for the visitor visa.

After you apply for the Inland Sponsorship + OWP at the same time and receive AOR, are you supposed to link 2 things to your online account? i.e., Inland Sponsorship AND OWP separately, one by one?

I've not sent mine yet but as far as I'm aware they prompt you to like the OWP to your application. You need to make a mycic account but if you're on an IEC or work permit you should already have one from when you applied for that
