Hello all,
My wife and I have an interesting dilemma and it would be greatly appreciated if we can some of your input on how to handle it.
Here is the background information:
My wife is a failed refugee claimant and PRRA applicant from Mexico. We started dating in January 2008 and decided to get married in March 2009. Immediately after the marriage in May 2009, we decided to seek the services of an immigration consultant in Montreal so that we can do an inland sponsorship via Vegreville. The consultant was supposed to send the application to Vegreville in late May 2009 but after an extremely frustrating period of correspondence, we discovered that she sent the application in February 2010. She was supposed to send it before November 2009 deadline for the PRRA process. As a consequence, my wife received a removal order from CBSA in February 2010 and left the country for Mexico in mid-March 2010.
Before leaving for Mexico, my wife and I decided to apply for the Outland sponsorship and we submitted a much stronger application in April 2010. We got the AOR from the Canadian embassy in Mexico City on May 31, 2010. When I logged onto ECAS at that time, I discovered that we have both the Outland application and surprisingly enough the Inland application as well (we thought that the immigration consultant just scammed us, but now we know that she was just incompetent. LOL!) Considering that she is a failed refugee and PRRA claimant, we had to fill out the application for Authorization to Return to Canada and submitted that at the beginning of August 2010.
Here are our questions:
1. Can we have both the Inland and Outland applications going on at the same time?
2. If we have to drop one application, it would be the Inland. Would this affect our stronger Outland application?
3. How would the Inland acceptance work, if my wife is currently residing in Mexico?
4. Is there a possibility of a refund for the inland application even though have started the processing?
5. Vegreville had just sent an address update sheet for my wife. Should we fill it out and also send a letter explaining the situation as well?
Thank you for taking the time to read this! Your input is greatly appreciated.
