Applied for VISA on 23/07/11. Initial response date was 07/07/11. Still no change in status (online).
Any idea why this delay or how much time is practically required now-a-days?

Maybe it's because of the hartal or something. Don't worry. Although it takes around 10 working days, but now many applications are being filed so might take some time. Hope for the best

How can it be? I'm guessing its a typing mistake and you submitted your application on 23rd june.

I gotta say that i'm surprised that they gave you such an early response date. VFS gave me an Initial response date exactly 28 days from the date of my application and I got the medical call after 12 working days. Generally it takes about 10-14 working days. I would say you could expect a word by the end of this week.

@Dewan: what! 28 days! Very long time. Yes, I typed wrong, I submitted on 23rd of June and they put response date on 7th of July.

Tips for medical:
1. Drink plenty of fluid the night before going to doc so that your urine doesn't seem like you had too many orange juice
2. Prepare to give out 2 vacutainer of blood
3. Prepare to take off your shirt for doing a chest xray
4. Prepare to be man-handled during physical exam

I heard it last year from a friend but I thought he was kidding :|
Because my other friends in KSA said that the doc wasn't allowed anywhere near "where-he-shouldn't-be". Why did we have to end up with the perverts

ha ha ha,,,med experience ,,,,, i remember.....i was shocked when the lady doctor said,, pls go behind that and undress urself, we are going to examine you"""----i was like AAAAA,here,how!!!!....then she said, "oh,no,no,, put on the clothes on the bed and wait,,,a guy doctor will soon attend you ".....LOL,,,freaking experience ...

BTW, i sent email to VFS ,,,,they said CHC works as usual in hortal days,,,,it regards as business days.....I m still waiting for my result,,,,it's 2 weeks now

Yah chc works on hartal days. BTW count the days from the day when your med report reached singapore

Great news bro
Yes you can submit your passport right after you are done with medical. You just have to submit passport to VFS and wait for the final decision and Inshallah it will be a visa

Hi friends!
Just finished with my Medical. Yeah, your guys were right......man-handled

Now, as I said before, I need to defer the program for four-months. Sep to Jan du my mother's sickness.
Don't know my supervisor (grad. coordinator too) will agree this or not
After getting the VISA, I shall inform her!

As Hasan said, there will be no problem at the port if I have an extension letter.
Hope everything goes well.
