Hello,

I received my permanent residence (COPR) on 15th October, 2020. I would like to know that how long it is taking to receive the first PR Card for people inside Canada?

Thanks.

It's around 130 days for the processing of the PR card and then you have to factor in a few weeks for mailing times.

I was planning to travel outside Canada. Do you know how long could it take to get the permanent residency travel document (PRTD)? The visa offices are mostly closed in my country. Would it be even worth to travel?

Thanks.

That is super hard to answer right now. I would plan on months. You might want to hold off traveling until you have your PR card unless you plan to be outside of Canada for several months or if you plan to return by traveling through the U.S. and then re-entering Canada through a land border.

I was planning to visit for a month only. Looks like waiting for PR card would be the best option. Is there any way that i can track the processing of my PR card?
