Hello everyone,

I wanted to know if the sponsor or the applicant (Family class app) travels for few days to another country, do we need to inform or update the canadian immi about it? If yes, then how?

Also if we have to check the app status on ecas with hte client id, whose name and details (DOB and place of birth) we need to write? I have the client id but no other number.

Kindly revert on what must be done in both the cases....

thank you in advance

Yes better to inform them. I used Abu Dhabi website inquiry form to inform them of my 1 week travel to Pakistan after i came back last week.

Alongwith client Id, put information of sponsor to access ecas.

I don't think informing CIC for a mini-trip is needed, although I may be wrong. You can call their 1-800 number to ask.

For your second question, the client ID number should belong to the sponsor. The immigration file number is what your sponsored family members should get after your application is transferred to your corresponding visa office, and it starts with a "B." Hope this helps. :)

You need to only inform CIC if you will be traveling for more than 6 months..however you need to have somebdoy check mail and phone calls while you are away on mini trips..in case CIC calls and needs to get hold of you..

If your applying inland the sponsored is not suppose to leave at all although a few have, they state that if you leave the country and for some reason are not let back in your app will be refused.
As to notifing them and its an outland you dont need to inform them but like lands says make sure you watch the emails and mail
