Hello,

I need to apply for my wife who is a Pakistani citizen, living in Islamabad. For the upfront medical, the physician says that they will send the completed medical directly to CIC, but want the centre where they should send it. The way I see it, there could be 3 potential centres:
(1)Missisuaga, which is the CIC where I will initially send the sponsor and applicant packages
(2)London, where the case for Pakistanis is processed, or
(3)Islamabad, which is actually her home embassy.

I hope someone can clarify the issue for me.

Kind regards.

The clinic performing the upfront medical should know where to send it, THAT'S WHY they're the designated clinic (panel physician). Are you sure you are doing the medical at the correct (CIC recognized) clinic? After that it will most likely be sent to the CIC office that will process the application, I believe.

I have always been under the impression that there is a medical 'repository' for the panel physicians to send their information to. The VO then requests the individuals information from that repository when needed. I don't know if this is the way it actually works or not, but I am quite sure this is what I was told previously.

That makes good sense. In any case if the clinic doing the exam is the correct one it will know where the results need to be sent.

Applicant's don't need to concern themselves about where the medical is sent. The CIC panel physician will send results (usually electronically) to one of the RMOs (Regional Medical Office) in the world, which are listed here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/publications/dmp-handbook/appendix-01.asp

It doesn't matter which RMO the medical is sent to. Some doctors in Canada only send results to the Ottawa RMO no matter where the applicant is applying from. With the receipt number you get after the exam is done and is included with the application, the VO can simply log into their system and access the results from any RMO.

Thanks for the reply guys! And you were absolutely correct. The clinic did infact know where the forms were to be sent. Its just that the guy I set up the appointment with in the first place asked me this question, and got me confused. But its all been cleared up now.
