I have searched as much as possible on many websites and tried to call as many places as possible looking for an answer but i cant seem to find one.
So I am a tattoo artist residing in Sweden but hold a UK passport and have been invited out to work at a convention in Canada and I would like to accept
but would also like to do this trip as legitimately as possible. I would be looking to travel to Canada for around 3 weeks to 1 month and visit some of my friends and family
around the Eastern part of Canada.
I have looked to see if there is a temporary work visa category that i would fall into. Normally i would apply for an artist visa, this is similar in some terms to what bands would use as it allows them to enter to work with their equipment.
I am aware that die to my nationality and passport that i travel on, i am part of the Visa Wavier scheme, but is anyone able to guide me towards what sort of visa i should look to apply for and, or, is this something that i can do once landing in Canada or would i have to apply for it prior to departing.
I have applied for and received visas for several countries to work temporarily and am familiar with the process, but normally there is a listing, a contact email, or someone that i can call and confirm my request with. In this case it just seems that this information is not so readily available.
Just to add
- I would be holding a return ticket and not looking to extend my stay beyond what i have booked in terms of travel.
- I would not be looking to find permanent work, rather be working on the basis of a "guest artist"
- I live and work in Sweden, have my wife there, and am not looking to relocate to Canada in any way
- This is not me trying to find a loop hole into getting a quick visa, rather this is me trying to legitimise my entry on the basis of honesty.
If it is the case where there is no definitive answer or that the visa i am looking for doesn't exist, then so be it
