Hi

I have applied under FSW and have not received any notification yet regarding the status of my application. I might travel to canada on work permit for a span of 6 months to one year.

I hope my PR app would be in progress then, would this help me in anyway in case i wish to switch job there or getting my work visa extended.

please answer my query.

there is no connection between your permanent residence application and your temporary work permit in respect to extending your temporary work permit. in order to get your work permit extended you need to satisfy the requirements in that regard to immigration officers inside canada which are ; sponsorship by your employer,you will leave canada after the authorized period...and so on.
