Info about OHIP

Hi

I wanted to know if 3 month waiting period for OHIP is waived off and will I be insured from day 1 after landing in Canada. I have heard that after visiting Service Ontario office, they are issuing a slip which can be used to avail health services until the card is delivered.

Ontario website says there is no waiting period but they are not updating the website because of some ongoing elections, not sure if this was rolled back.
