I am from Iran, 29 years old, and I have a total money of about 40,000 Canadian dollars.

I have bachelor of science in Industrial Engineering, and I'm considering studying abroad to continue my study. My options are Canada and Germany.

Studying in Germany is very affordable, and I think I can cover my study and living costs there for 2 years easily. But the downside is that I need to learn German, and I think it should be easier to get a permanent visa after finishing my studies if I study in Canadian universities.

From what I've seen on websites, the average tuition cost of post-graduate study in Canada is something about 30,000$ per year, and if I consider living expenses 15,000$ a year, so I would hardly have enough money for 1 year.

But I've heard that there are more affordable universities in Canada too. Is there any university that offers Master of Science fields related to Industrial Engineering with tuition fee of something about 15,000$ per year?

Hello Hamid,

It really depends on where you are searching. The amount you quoted is pretty high.

Start searching for schools in the Provinces of Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Newfoundland. You shouldn't have a hard time finding something related.

Thanks buddy,

Do you think that with something about 40.000 Canadian dollars, Can I get by in Canada (both for my studies and living cost)?

It also boils down to the duration of your program. For a 2-3 year program I think you can get by but you will have to be really strict with your living expenses.

I think you should start searching for schools that may offer your program so you can start comparing Tuition fees. Tuition fees is pretty much fixed but living expenses really boils down to your lifestyle.

A while back I put together a list for affordable schools based on undergraduate tuition. It might just help you start searching
