indian police clearance question...

Hi guys

The question I have is for my spouse who is a indian citizen living in india -

I am going soon to get married to her in india , I am a Canadian PR

She was born in Punjab- and already has a passport- with the city of birth listed on her passport (city is from punjab)

She has lived and worked in Mumbai for the past 9 years, question I have is regarding her police cleareance...

Can she get it from the local police department from Mumbai or she will have to get it from Punjab?

As per my understanding, she has to apply for Police Clearance from the City, where she currently lives.

The same happend in my case too.
