Hi,

My parents want to apply for Canadian Citizenship. But I have following question if somebody can answer pls

- My father has worked with Punjab Government for whole life and is getting his pension in Indian Bank. If he acquires Canadian Citizenship can he loose his Indian Pension or even after taking Canadian Citizenship he will continue receiving his pension in India.

Can somebody please reply.

Thanks

He would still get it. Sometimes they hold payments so that you have to actually go and prove that the person receiving the pension is alive. A year to two years sometimes. Then they issue it as a lump sum. When they do get their citizenship, remember to get a surrender certificate for their Indian passport from bls.Makes it easier to apply for OCI.

I am getting Pension in India as I retired from the position of Principal from KENDRIYA VIDYALAYA Under the Government of India.
If I acquire CANADIAN CITIZENSHIP Will my Indian Pension be stop?
PLEASE REPLY
Thank you very much
