It has no expiry date if it was obtained after you left India and have not gone back.

If you have not visited India since the date this Indian PCC was issued to you, then it is still valid.
If a person is currently residing in India and applying from India, then the PCC is valid for only 6 months.

If you have not been to INDIA. It is still VALID.

For countries in which the applicant no longer resides, the police certificate must have been issued after the departure date of the last time the client resided in that country for more than six months.

Check under Police Certificates ;D

Better to obtain a new PCC after your visit to India. You will need to apply for it through the Indian Embassy based in your current country of residence.
As such the format of PCC provided by PSK and Indian Embassy is the same.

will do so but , just to clear my head isn't it if you live in some other country for 6 months or more in that case you would need a PCC ?

You require PCC for every country in which you have resided 6 months or more.
Say you lived in a country for 6 months in a year. Then you returned back sometime later in that same country and stayed for a month. So your PCC for that country should be issued after your last visit (or during your last few days stay) in that country.

IRCC wants a new PCC in this case. Clearly mentioned on their website - Program updates for PCC.
I also felt the same way last year, when I had obtained Indian PCC from Indian embassy and then visited India for 3 weeks, which made my earlier PCC invalid.
I hope you get it.

you are getting confused. sushsmart15 has replied your query nicely. once you stay more than 6 months in any country you need a PCC after your last visit to that country.

Only if you have stayed for less than 6 months in total in any country you are exempted.
