Indian PCC from New York Consulate by mail?

Hi,

Has anyone got the PCC from the Indian Consulate in NYC by mailing them the passport and getting it? If yes, how long did it take, and what was the process?

My passport was issued by the NY consulate, so it should be quick. My wife's passport was issued in India, though. Also, she has my name in her passport (Spouse), but I don't have her name in mine.

Will any of this make a difference? Be good to hear from people who've been through it.

Hi, did you apply PCC by mail finally? How was your experience? How many days did it take for PCC for your spouse passport that was issued in India?

I am planning to apply by mail too, so it would be really helpful to know this.

I went in person. I got it in 20 minutes, but my experience may be atypical.

I have one more related query regarding payment.. does the money order need to be for $43 or separate ones for $40 and $3?

I paid in cash, but I believe you can club the two amounts.
