indian passport renewal queries for foreign worker

Hi friends,
I'm in a very confuse situation..need the help from everyone who ever have any idea abt my problem.

Presently I'm in edmonton on work permit which expires on mar 2013.My indian passport have no pages left & the multiple visa will expire in sept 2012.I had search on internet & vfs india websites for renewal of passport but they said I have to apply for new passport which means i'll get the new passport no.& one more thing my passport is expires on feb 2015.Now my question is...

1 If i get the new PP No. then i have to request canada immigration to change my PP No. on my workpermit (Please give some information on this)
2 May be indian consulate cancel my TRV visa on my present passport

Please help me seniors, share ur views

2. No, they can't, you keep the expired passport with the visa with your new passport.
