I am working in Toronto with work permit. My company initiated the Visa extension and my passport is about to expire on next year March.
Could you please suggest the best way to renew my Indian passport in Tatkal or normal?
Kindly suggest the better way to get my Passport renew.

Is there any rejections scenarios when we go with Tatkal?

If I understood it right, you are asking for passport renewal process from Toronto? You need to approach bls India for that, a typical renewal takes 3-5 weeks. There is no tatkal process.
Some folks have suggested on this forum that for faster processing you need to approach Indian consulate directly, perhaps you call them or search these forums to find out more if you really want it done faster than above timelines
