Indian Passport - No Surname

I have an Indian passport and I have my surname blank as I don't have one. My whole name "ABC DEFG" is typed under Given Name.

I tried the putting my whole name in the first name field but CIC website does not let you save unless you put a last name. Therefore in my Express Entry I have filled my whole name into the Last name field as "ABC DEFG" and have kept my first name empty.

Is this ok??

You should type first name and last name in separate filled. For issue regarding your passport have a simple notary that provides proof that name "ABC DEFG" and firstname "ABC" lastname "DEFG" are same.

In my current work permit our attorney had advised us to put complete name under family name....I am so confused

I have the same problem in my wife's passport. I am planning to put first name and last name separately and explain it in the letter of explanation. What u guys think? never had the problem in visa or work permit.

Everybody is suggesting to keep it the way I have i.e. First Name blank and complete name under Family Name and this is how our attorney did it on my work permit application

For sake of new applicants: If surname is blank then fullname is to be put in the lastname section BUT I would strongly advise to fix the passport first before applying.

I had same problem and agent did not advise to fix the name, now my first name is blank in all official Canadian documents and I'm having lot of hassles.

how are you dealing with credit score check and bank account things?
I am having my full name in given name field in passport
For PR card, as it is suggested this website(https://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=014&top=4) , i have my full name in last name field.
So now in all my Canadian IDs like DL, health card, SIN I have my full name in lastname(same as PR card)
Actual issue I am facing is
Bank account can not have firstname empty, so bank people added my full name in both first name and last name fields
Now transunion and equifax are not able to match my ID and bank account as there is a mismatch
I am not able to check my credit score

Anyone facing the same issue, please let me know if there is anyway to deal with this. thanks!
