Hi Guys

I unfortunately do not have a birth certificate. So what else can I show in place of birth certificate.

Can I show the following:
1>Class X passing certificate (CBSE) with my name, fathers name and D.O.B AND
2>Affidavit from me stating that I do not have a birth certificate or Affidavit from parents confirming my place and D.O.B or BOTH

Also there is a section in the FSW application form where we need to mention the fathers full name. I will mention my fathers full name, no problem.

Now the class X passing certificate that I have only has my fathers initials and not the full name. for example, lets say my fathers full name is ABC XYZ and on the passing certificate its only mentioned A XYZ. So do you think I should be worried about this?

Any suggestions?

Birth certificate is another document that CIC requires. You have to obtain it.

If you cannot obtain BC, you can produce an affidavit which must also be notarized.

1. Any other suggestions please and can anyone provide the format for the affidavit.

2. So the affidavit also needs to be notarised?

3. Do me and my parents need to give affidavits? or any one will do?

Hello ,

Even I had the same problem.

But I requested govt. agency in New Delhi to make my Birth Certificate early , then they did it for me quite happily.

So , Talk to concern agency in your state, they will definitely help you.

in India, your parents can prepare an affidavit and municipality will issue the Birth certificate very quickly, so you can try that.

the problem comes only when you were born in a far off state and cannot reach that anymore.

in this case AFFIDAVIT from yourself will work. this is as per the CIC video that I watched yesterday, you can also have a look at CIC HELP centre.
