Hi guys,

I've been doing bit of research on my current situation but I'm stuck. I'm currently on post grad work permit that's going to expire in August. I work part time as an independent contractor. My employer is a sole proprietor. My question is is there a way for me to extend my work permit? Or does my employer have to go through LMIA even though I'm not his employee? Is there a way I can get an extension of an open work permit.
I also work part time as a barista, not sure if this helps.
Very much appreciate any guidance in this!

Your employer needs to go through the LMIA process so that you can then apply for a closed work permit tied to that specific employer.

No - you cannot extend the PGWP.
