I am working as Technical Sales Specialist for past 12 months (started work July 2012), and started with a salary of $40,000 and in April 2013 my salary was increased to $45,000. So basically 9 months i worked with 40K and 3 months i worked with 45K.

Do i have to clearly mention this change in salary in my reference letter? If so, is that anyway going to impact my case negatively? I can back that info with pay stub. Do i have to explain them about the reason for increase in salary?

Please Help..Thank you.

I think it wouldn't be a bad idea to attach a letter explaining the pay raise.
As your latest paystubs and letter of reference will be proof enough for the new pay,
your T4 and NOA might still show the old. So if you attach your latest T4 and NOA + the latest
pay stub before submitting your application you should be good.
