On April 30, 2022, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) is increasing fees for all permanent residence applications. This includes economic, permit holder, family and humanitarian classes.

In 2020, IRCC increased permanent residence fees to account for inflation for the first time since 2002. At that time, it was announced that fees would increase every 2 years to adjust for inflation.

The differences between current and new permanent residence fees

The current fees of principal applicant of Protected Persons , Humanitarian and Compassionate would be modified from $550 to $570

Yes, increase fees without decreasing processing times. That is fair

As stated in the notice it is a slight increase in fees due to inflation. Doesn’t even meet current rate of inflation. Processing costs are still subsidized by the taxpayer. PR fee doesn’t cover cost of processing.
