Hello everyone,
My wife's home passport shows her birthdate as the year only. It does not include the day and the month. All immigration docs was based on that passport and accordingly they all show the birthdate with a year only. We do have the original birth certificate, with a certified translation. We also created a signed affidavit. Correcting the home passport now is a difficult and lengthy process which needs us to travel there as well. It's a long story.
I sent an email to CIC and after 2 months of waiting, they sent me an email asking me to follow the process to correct the birthdate on the PR card if it was a mistake by CIC, assuming the dates were correct on the home passport. Which is not my case.
I'm thinking of submitting my citizenship application and include all supporting documents, certified translated birth certificate and affidavit, including a declaration/explaination of the situation and see what happens.
Anybody faced a similar situation? Do you have an idea of what to do?
Thanks,
-Gus
