Income tax requirement for citizenship - please help ! Its urgent.

I landed in canada on dec 1 2015 and we filed tax for 2015 from another country. But I am not sure if it was mandatory to file tax for that year. I did not work in canada in 2015. I filed the tax anyway.

There is a question in citizenship application about filing income tax.
Q12 - should i tick Yes for both Required to File and Taxes files ? my edibility period is from 2013 DEC-2018 DEC

Or I should file 2018 tax and then apply ? I think cic needs us to file tax for 3 years and we should be required to file tax in those years. Is that true ?

I was working from 2016 feb to present and i have been filing taxes.

Pleaseeeee help someone. I am not sure if i should file tax and then apply or if i am eligible for citizenship now?

Regardless of your age, if required under the Income Tax Act, you must meet your personal income tax filing obligations in three tax years that are fully or partially within the five years right before the date you apply“

If you do not have income you are not required by law to file taxes as it is voluntary. So you are good to go if you think you are past 1095 days threshold.

For 2015 you will have to check no in require to file taxes and yes in filed taxes as you did not work so was not required to file.

I had a question regarding the tax returns, I landed on 2017 and I'm eligible to apply for my citizenship based on number of days required to be physically in Canada. So, I have made tax returns for last three years, however for 2017 because I arrived in May and I got my first job in July, my return technically is good enough only for about half a year. Will this cause any issues or am I good?
