I am a PR in Canada and I did my landing in Montreal in May 2011. I have stayed in Montreal 10 days and then I traveled back to Houston, TX as I am on work assignment for 3 years. I opened a bank account and deposited CAD25k and got a credit card from the same bank in order to start building my credit score.

I have no income from Canada by any mean as I am working in the USA and the only income I have is a salary income. What are my income tax residency status for the year 2011. Am I subject to the Canadian Income Tax for my salary income derived from my job in the USA. Also, what are the tax return filing procedures? Thanks for your help

You are not considered a tax resident by CRA. But if you get interest income from the Bank Acct. you have to file a Canadian tax return.
