Hi, I have a question regarding inadmissible family members.
Here is the situation. My boyfriend will be deported to Mexico from the US. He has one reckless driving and 3 misdemeanors (patronizing prostitution). He will be inadmissible to Canada for 10 years and be eligible to apply for individual rehabilitation after 5 years. I am thinking about immigration to Canada. I am an RN (I know I still need to pass CRNE in Canada) in the US.
I just found out I will be inadimissible to Canada if my spouse is inadmissible to Canada. So, is it better to apply for permanent residency by myself without gettting married (we never lived together and he will be in Mexico and I will be in the US), then sponsor him after 5 years (as fiance)?
If I get married after I become permanent resident of Canada, do I lose my residency (even if he will be in Mexico)?
Any suggestions? Also, any recommendations for an immigration attorney in Vancouver BC area?
Thank you.
