In-Transit Days in travel history

Hello members,

I am filling the travel history on my express entry application, it is asking for period of stay.

I am wondering how to show the in-transit days for which I stayed at an airport in a country other than my orgin and destination due to flight cancellation and there is no stamp on my passport for that country.

For eg.
Started from India - Dec 9th 2017
Stayed at Switzerland Airport - Dec 10th 2017 due to connecting flight cancellation
Reached USA - Dec 11th 2017.

Just mention the immigration stamping dates that you have. I had similar issues, and I used the stamping dates. I got my PR.

Is it advisable to add LOE in both travel and address history?

Both are different. If you traveled on shorter trips, no need to mention those in address history.

@mr.preetsingh - looking for similar info. I have several such trips between India and US where there is a gap of 1 day due to transit. Is it ok to leave gap of 1 day and write start and end date based on stamps ?

Hello sorry to dig this up. Did you mention Switzerland ? I stayed in Nairobi for a similar reason fr a day but outside airport and no stamp on passport

I had a few transits where I had to go out the airport and stay for a day due to long layovers. I mentioned the same in the travel history and added an explanation there as 'One day layover in x country while traveling from A to B for vacation/work etc'.

So did you have stamps for all here stays I don’t think they stamped my passport

No. I didn't have entry/exit stamps for any. In some cases, I had a 1 or 2 day on arrival visa stamped in the passport.
Even if you don't have the stamps, and you stepped out the airport (meaning you went through the immigration process in that country), better to mention it in the travel history.

Thanks my friend so you had a few cases where you mentioned you visited the country but have no trace of it in your passport right. Was just making sure it’s ok and no additional explanation required

Correct. I thought to mention those to avoid any misrepresentations later as I specifically went through the immigration process and went outside the airport. There were a few where I stayed at the airport but didn't mention those in the travel history.

Awesome , did you get your pr/ citizenship yet ? I believe all countries should stamp passports man lol it’s crazy just now I noticed Kenya had not stamped my transit . Which country didn’t stamp yours when you exit the airport ?

Lol, I was lucky to just receiev my ITA 2 weeks back. Hoping PR gets issued in the 6 months standard.
I had 1 layover in China and Hong Kong each and neither stamped any dates on the passport. Even Canada doesn't put stamps. I wish too every country follows the same process but hardly anything we can do about it except keeping a personal travel record ourselves.

BTW, did you get your PR yet? What's your AOR?

Ah got it , no I Got my Pr 2 years back had this question regarding citizenship application , let me know if you need any help with ITA . If you are from india then get your PCC soon it takes forever from Toronto
