Hello all, I called the CIC lately and was told you are in the queue for the test and no activities in your file till you take the test...but today was told something different, you're in queue for the test until all verification on some of your documents have been finalized then you will be sent a letter to take the test. I am now confused...please let me know through your experiences, what does it mean to be in the queue for the test, after submitting FP for myself 2 months agao and a RQ for a family member 5 months ago.
Thanks!

I can understand your frustration....my own application took 21 months in total (routine application from submission till oath)...fingerprints are valid for one year...usually in most cases what i had seen it can take up to 6 months after your fingerprints are done to receive a test date then again you never know you might have a letter in the mail tomorrow morning. Just be patient and hopefully it will soon work out for you...btw the CIC agents have no idea what so ever what they are talking about so if I was you I wont pay much attention to their information provided.

Thanks a lot for your kind and encouraging words. Sometimes frustration just creep into your dreams and you feel like lost throughout the whole process especially when you feel that your case is very straightforward...Let's keep our fingers crossed and after reading your reply I am optimistic again :)

Egyo, calm down and take a deep breath :) you are not the only one from May 2012. We are a lot :) we are all waiting for the test. Just check your mails often and do not think about it too much. Good luck!

As per prior posts there is not much you can do but wait..human nature is such especially for something personally to want it done yesterday. My take from your CIC discussion is that there is an immigration verification (part of processing checks) stalling things - that you got your PR Card application pulled in to review at the local office also alludes to this. You need to get your GCMS notes to better understand this - how did you get PR? Family Class? FSW? CIC have something on your file in their radar for this. Also PR Card renewal - were you in Canada when you submitted? Did you use a consultant?

To get a fingerprint request one don't have to be under the radar....the only time fingerprints are requested when they want to verify more on one individual identity as when they run a criminal back ground check and if the record comes back with similar details (same D.O.B similar names of other individuals with criminal record). So over all fingerprints have nothing to do with the immigration status of a person, the purpose solely is to verify one's identity and back ground check, its also not a delay tactic. Everyone who apply for Citizenship has these checks done and if there is any confusion in anyone's back ground check fingerprints will be requested.

Its best to be optimistic buddy as thinking about this everyday will not expedite anything, believe me fingerprints are just a regular procedure (read my above post). You have nothing to worry about. Real soon you will be taking that Oath. ;)

'Dude' if you 'carefully' re-read my post I make no link between FP and radar - I clearly refer to an immigration verification check which all applicants undergo. Usually its routine and very quick much more so than the security and criminal checks. However check the OPs multiple posts on this forum he has a referred PR Card renewal to the local office presenting challenges to his travel plans so there is an issue with the immigration side of things in his case...this is what is under the radar.

Thanks OKK and Msafiri for your feedback. @Msafiri I got my PR as a skilled worker. I applied to citizenship myself but used a consultant for my PR renewal...It seems that he made a mess as the application returned to him for missing info then he sent it back to them without letting me know about that. I discovered it when I kept disputing the time of arrival with the CIC till they investigated it and told me about returning the file to the representative then got it back three weeks later. Anyway, I am not sure what is going on..today I talked to Waldman & Associates (a lawyer) in Tornoto and they told me that they are filing a case at the Federal court with regard to RQs and they have 22 people with them. My application was received in August 2011, was sent RQ and submitted it last April, then FP last July. And now my PR renewal was offered to my son, while me and my wife have been transferred to Local office...I am so confused and don't know what to do?!! Do you recommend going to the lawyer and be part of the case they file with the Feral court?!

Most likely you haven't got the CSIS clearance, which is the last stage you have to go through before getting a test date.

What is CSIS clearance? Could you please give more info about it?

ASK WHETHER YOUR SECURITY CHECK IS COMPLETE, THAT IS, FOSS, RCMP & most importantly CSIS!!!

Unless you get your CSIS clearance, you won't get a test date!
