On ECAS i see "IN Process" and the below message

We received your application for Canadian citizenship (grant of citizenship) on January 16, 2014.

We sent you a letter acknowledging receipt of your application(s), and a study book called Discover Canada on January 16, 2014. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.

But i don't see that "We started processing your application on <DATE>". Not Sure Why, is this a mistake in update from CIC?

No need to panic.
Your application is well on the system once they say that your submission is received and that the booklet "Discover Canada" was sent out.
It's likely that this will be the only information you'll get until they give you an invitation to write the citizenship test.
Also, don't be dismayed by the posted processing time on the CIC website. That's a very general estimate. Each case is unique and provided all your supporting documents are in order, the faster your papers will be processed. We were told for example that CIC Mississauga is working towards processing application within 6 months after acknowledgment of receipt.

Just to share you my timeline:
Submitted my application: JULY 2013
CIC acknowledgment received including booklet "Discover Canada": OCTOBER 2013 (3 months later after application)
Invitation to write citizenship test: FEBRUARY 2014 (7 months after application)
Test written and passed: 10 MARCH 2014 (8 months after application)
Now awaiting oath invitation
