Ok it seems I'm the only one here that is sponsoring someone from ukraine. I just have few questions. I've been accepted to sponsor my wife. My wifes application status changed to "in process " on July 26th. What usually happens next ? What are the next steps ? When should I hear somethin. will they mail me or my wife. When I check online I only see my address. My wife has same last name as me so I don't know how to log in for her

hey!

Your file is moving - that's really great! No many people indeed from Ukraine, so difficult to know what is happening ( in general with CIC)> there is another applicant going through Kiev, his forum name is "marriedman" you can ask him about his experience, but he filed his application in April, so he might not have more than you to say...

After in process, the status might change to "decision made" - or you might get a PR issued before that. there is no consistent timeline to know how much time between in process and decision made. Impossible to know when you will hear something. Kiev average time is 8 months, when was your application transferred/when were you approved?

they will email or send a letter to your wife as she is the applicant, unless you have a representative named in your application. It can arrive by email, or by post.

They will ask for your wife's passport next, as Ukraine is not visa-exempt as far as I know, unless your VO asks for it at the beginning of the process (New Delhi for example requests the passport at the beginning of the process, some other Vo requests only when they are ready to issue the visa, so I am not sure about Ukraine).

You might be able to log in as the applicant by entering> name, file number (that you got with the sponsorship approval) and the DOB and POB of your wife, the applicant. It works for me like this at least!

Good luck with your process,
Sweden

I don't think anybody can answer that, as it really depends on your case.
Sorry - you just have to wait to hear from them.
Good luck,

Hey jordan2110,

Ukraine is fast even though they say it's 8 months on average. Some people get their visas 3 months after Kiev gets their documents. As everyone said there is no specific waiting time after you get in process. Your VO is fast, and if your case is simple, it should be quick. Lucky you, I am going through Moscow. It has almost been 4 months and i am not in process yet, however ecas is unreliable.

You can look at this statistic of people going through Moscow and Kiev.

I meant cases when applicants were approved 3 months Kiev's receipt. I can not tell you how it will take for her to get her visa. Some people don't get in process or get it late. You got in process almost 2 months after they received your application, so it shouldn't be too long util POVL.
Good luck =) And don't worry Kiev has short processing time.
