IN-PROCESS MEANS POINTS HAVE BEEN CALCULATED?

In my experience application rejected after processing started citing lack of points. In process means u have one year expereince in the list of occupations in the ministerial instructions.

We need to differentiate between Eligibility for Review and Processing. This is what the procedures explain.

Once eligibility is established, which is before processing, pass marks are confirmed. At processing phase, the VO will authenticate the documents applicants provide...,then, if any of information provided was concluded to be wrong, then, the applicant will be inadmissible by misrepresentation. This has to be very clear.

Why don't you just recognize your mistake? There is no need to be so stubborn. Your reputation won't suffer because of the mistake recognition. Your interpretation is not correct.

As eligibility (at least one year from 38- 29- list) is established - before processing . And once this is done - pass marks are confirmed - and this is the beginning of processing (which includes the authentication of the documents applicants provide - as based on this documents the points are calculated - in other words - pass mark confirmation - is the authentication of the documents, based on which you "claim" that you have enough points and Visa Officer checks this, but only after the eligibility review (at least one year in the occupations list)).

That's what they exactly say in there Guide and in quotation that you have provided.

As per OP-6 manual, the "In-Process" status happens after you have cleared 'minimum eligibility', i.e. either you have atleast 1 year of experience in the 29 NOC's identified for processing as per MI (post 26 June 2010) or have an AEO endorsed by HRSDC/Service Canada in any NOC. Once this is established, logically your application enters processing.

Thereafter all the documents are screened & points allocation is done for the various selection factors such as age, experience, education, language etc. So your application can be rejected even during the 'In Process' stage if you fail to achieve 67 points.

However some Visa Offices like Delhi, change the e-cas to "In Process" only after completing the selection criteria too, just before issuance of medicals. But Office like London, do it as defined in the OP-6. So their is a significant time gap between going into 'In Process' & Medicals.

I second that......During "In Process" stage application may be rejected. It does not give guarantee even though your total points are 67.

Well actually "In Process" had a different meaning for all the various processing methods (MI's):

1. For Pre 28 Feb. 2008 applicants, under simplified application process, In-Process was immediately after submitting your application, although nothing was done on it except that an acknowledgment was sent to the applicant. The e-cas had minimalistic information on what was happening on your application.

2. For post 28 Feb 2008 to 26 June 2010 applicants, E-cas coming into 'In-Process" meant clearing minimum eligibility, however some Visa Office don't do this on the E-cas & keep it in the RBVO stage upto medicals request stage (This ambiguity is strange as Visa Offices world over have a different interpretation to this status). What Qorax is saying is also the same, the 1st BFD after submission is for assessing the minimum eligibility only. Thereafter the VO may issue a request for additional documents & then do the selection factors assessment on the 2nd BFD. Medicals are issued thereafter. So there should be a significant time period between the 1st & 2nd BFD & that is when the e-cas should show 'In-Process'.

3. For post 26 June applicants, after CIO does the minimum eligibility & even assess the application for all documents & allocate the points in CAIPS, they do not make a selection decision, but transfer it to the Visa Office for re-assessing the application for selection factors as the Visa Office would have a better understanding of the local aspects. This stage for these applicants is 'In-Process'.

Technically speaking the status & interpretation should be as:

1. Received by Visa Office: Should be only an on-line acknowledgment for receipt of the complete documentation submitted at the Visa Office.

2. Visa Office Eligibility Review Complete: The application has been reviewed for minimum eligibility & checked for completeness of the documents submitted. The application is either accepted (Allocation of a new file number (AOR) or rejected (Refusal Letter). This would then lead to either "In-Process" or "Application Withdrawn". Refund of application fee is possible only upto this stage.

3. In Process: Paper review for selection factors, background & security checks or any other matter that requires additional information is requested.

Rest of the status messages seems to be self-explanatory.

I believe atleast London Visa Office follows this procedure as is. Don't no about the rest.

Do they start with calculating points >then (if passed)>background checks>then (if ok and no additional docs) > security checks >then( if any police certificates needed) then to next level?

of is it unknown or depends on the officer?

Are you a post 26 June applicant?

We here were discussing before 26 June applicants. And you are one of them.

Before that you were claiming some opposite things, that contradict the things that Yukun just told us. Such as that the points are calculated before "In process" stage.

Many people, me including, told you that it's not right, and the points are calculated after "In process" stage begins.

Yukun's words only support this fact.

Just have the courage to recognize the fact that you were not right. And before Yukun said that, I told you almost the same.
