Dear members, we (myself and my wife) got the FSW PR visa recently (2 weeks back) and we need to book the airline tickets urgently as we need to land Canada by mid of April-2012.

In our COPR, POE (Port of Entry) is Toronto. However, we wish to stay in Calgary,Alberta. Can we directly fly to Calgary and get the all required immigration procedures(i.e. PR card and other formalities)done at Calgary?

Can immigration officer object at POE (Calgary), if we directly fly to Calgary?

Is there any changes in such norms recently?

Grateful, if you please reply soon, as we wish to land at earliest and need to book the airline tickets urgently.

Dear Hitz,

You can land anywhere regardless of whatever is mentioned in your COPR. You can choose any port of entry in Canada. There won't be any problems in doing so. Have a great life ahead. ;D ;D ;D

Thanx Harry..few more questions related to same topice.

(1) Just wish to know that, in such case all immigration formalities i.e. passport control, custom check, PR applicaiton wud be done at Calgary airport only? or we'll have to go to Torronto later to get it done?

(2) And if can land anywhere, then what is the significance of writing in COPR under 'Application details': City of destn. as - Toronto & Prov. of dest. as -Ontario? [In application stage, i had mentioned in the form IMM 0008 under the question: 'where do you intend to live in Canada? as City: TORONTO & PROVINCE: ONTARIO; Since at that time i was not familiar @ canada provinces, job opportunities etc. However, after sometime, i made up my mind to settle down in Calgary,Alberta].

Dear Hitz,

1. Yes all the mentioned formalities will be done at the airport.

2. The information is only for statistics.

Which is the more suitable city Toronto or Calgary
I have many years experience of Quality Control in Pharmaceutical Industry, whether any one will guide which will be more suitable city Toronto or Calgary for me if I want to switch to Retail Pharmacy.

Thanks,
