Hi!

I have express entry profile as well as Study visa application in progress.
I have received a refusal on the below grounds -
1. Refusal Based on Purpose of Visit.
2. Refusal Based on Financial Resources Without Working in Canada
3. Refusal Based on Qualifications, Previous Studies, Missing Mark Sheets, Academic Record, Level of Establishment, Language Abilities

I have mentioned in my SOP that I will return to my home country once the temporary residence duration is over. As for financial resources, I have shared my bank statement, GIC and first year fees receipts, which are more than adequate for financial stability. As far as language ability is concerned, I have a band 8 overall score with none less than 6.5. My Academic record is also good(BTech with 78%). I have taken the course in the same field as my work experience.

What should I write in my SOP to convince the visa officer that I am a genuine student! How to go about the re-application for my study visa?

Thanks in advance for your reply!

Order gcms notes

Order GCMS notes. What is the program since you have a BTech? You say your finances are adequate but how much do you have?

Your refusal has nothing to do with dual intent. What course have you applied for and where? How much did is your full tuition and how much did you show?

I had a Btech in Electronics and communication Engineering and passed out of college in 2013. I have been working in Software industry as a developer since then. I have attached proofs of my gap activity with accuracy. I have applied for Masters of Engineering in Information Systems Security at Concordia University Montreal.
My estimated course fees is - $ 33,071.22
I have paid $10,000 GIC + 15,000 CAD University Fees + 35,000 CAD of liquid money.

I do not understand why then does funds inadequacy come into picture!

So you paid your first year tuition. How many years is the program and what is the yearly tuition?

The program is for 2 years. The first year tuition fees is $23,874.48 and the balance as the rest of it. Basically they are charging approx $7K CAD for first three semesters. Second year semesters have a lower fees.

So what are your total costs for tuition and living expenses for the two years. Confused what you have paid so far.

I have paid $10,000 GIC + 15,000 CAD University Fees so far
For living expenses, I think 10-15K CAD more and fees around 20K CAD to be paid in the future.
For that, I showed approx 35K CAD in my bank statements!

Too early for me to add but you still need to pay balance of tuition for this year and next year plus living expenses. But you need to explain that you have enough funds to pay for your education without working. You are using all your savings for education.

Also just to add. If you are using all your savings for education, how will it improve or increase your salary in your home country. Will you make that much more in your home country.

Yes, I understand. Trying to find right words to explain to the officer for all the reasons for refusal. Although I had explained everything in a well drafted SOP.
Thanks for the response!

Yes definitely. I mentioned about the opportunities I would have in my home country after the course.
