So I moved to Canada (Canadian citizen) with my wife (here on a TRP until PR become eligible).
I've applied for a TIN number to get my car across the border (export from USA to Canada) and the guys at the border already know that the TIN hasn't come in yet.
My questions are as such:
1) Once I've imported my car to Canada, how long do I have to get it registered and insured in Canada? It's fully insured and registered in the USA right now for the next year. We live 5 minutes across the border. Should I cancel those things in the USA and get them done in Canada? I just moved in and I'm sort of panicky thinking of everything I have to do so I'm hoping this car thing can at least wait a couple of weeks.
2) How do I go about changing my USA driver's license to a New Brunswick one? Does that tend to be very costly?
3) Is there anything else I need to do? I already purchased the house and moved in, got property insurance, set up my bank account, set up my electricity/sewer/heat/cable/etc. When should I apply for medical coverage?
